This cruise departs 9:30 from the Great Sandy Straits Marina and returns 2:30pm. You will see Round Island, Big Woody Island and Pelican Bank before reaching the widest part of K'gari at Moon Point. Interesting historical and geographical information will be included in the skippers commentary.

Dugong and dolphin are often seen in this area. Morning tea of hot scones and profiteroles will be served as you cruise from Moon Pt to Coongul beach.

Further up the island you will enjoy the sights of the Arch Cliffs, and several creek entrances along the pristine beaches. Dingoes may be seen wandering the beaches as well. Hopefully there will be an early pod of Humpback Whales calling into Platypus Bay on their southern migration. Turtles are often seen in this area as well.

Your plated lunch of hot chicken wings, two cold meats, 3 salads and a warm roll will be served while in Platypus Bay. Free tea, coffee and filtered water is available all day. Soft drinks and other beverages are available to purchase from the bar.

Your skipper will give an informative commentary on the history, geography and special features of K'gari and any marine creatures you are lucky enough to see.
